RAAM Landscape Maintenance Inspector
Brief Job Description:
- Identify and address safety related tree conditions along the right-of-way and other public land, as well as evaluate conditions that could affect the health and viability of trees, shrubs and other vegetation. Duties include identifying and reporting hazardous conditions (damaged/ diseased limbs and trees), performing minor tree pruning as needed to remove obstructions and eliminate immediate safety issues while adhering to ANSI A300 pruning standards. Inspectors are also responsible for pest scouting and identification, recommending appropriate integrated pest management practices (IPM) and performing assessments of tree health and condition.
- Perform inspections for all Miami Dade County grounds landscape maintenance contracts. Prepare daily travel logs, inspection reports, and process photos of deficiencies pertaining to contractual landscape maintenance services provided by qualified, County approved vendors and submitting information to our work distribution center for processing. Maintain complete and accurate written computerized records of contractor’s compliance.
- Investigate and respond to complaints and inquiries received from the Mayor’s office, Commissioners office, PROS Director's Office, 311, constituents and other external and internal customers.
- Categorized as essential personnel for the County to address emergencies and post storm related issues for the Department.
- Other arboricultural, landscape, and administrative duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Three years of experience in grounds/vegetation maintenance or tree trimming is required. Must obtain an ISA Certified Arborist Certification within one year of hire. Must possess a Driver license.
