ISA Certified Arborist

Location: Tysons, VA

VIKA Virginia, LLC, a premier land development consulting firm in Northern Virginia, is hiring!  We are seeking an ISA-Certified Arborist to work in our Tysons office.  The successful candidate will have experience in Northern Virginia jurisdictions conducting fieldwork and producing typical project documentation in an office setting. Familiarity with the following types of work is desired:  existing vegetation maps, tree Inventory / replacement calculations, and tree canopy computations to support entitlement projects; tree health appraisals; on-site monitoring of pre-and-ongoing construction activities; weekly and/or monthly site monitoring reports; tree valuation analyses; tree protection techniques; and the challenges involving urban tree planting and viability, among other things.

It is expected that the candidate will be fluent in computer programs standard within the industry (AutoCAD and the MS Office Suite at a minimum—with knowledge of other imaging and presentation programs a plus).  It is also expected that the candidate will have a solid understanding of site grading and how it impacts the development process.

Minimum Education Requirements:

                Degree in Environmental Science, Urban Forestry, Landscape Architecture, or related field

                2-4 Years of Arborist Experience
