Role & Responsibilities:

The Operations and Safety Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and long-term strategic direction of Arborforce Tree Services within a specific geographic area. Key responsibilities include overseeing the scheduling and sales departments, ensuring operational excellence, and promoting a strong safety culture.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Culture: Demonstrate role model behaviors in ethics and integrity, promoting the company culture, particularly regarding safety, quality, and customer service.

Operational Management: Manage a substantial local Tree Care Services operation to achieve annual financial objectives and position the organization for future growth. Understand tree care business economic drivers, financial statements, capital planning, and personnel development.

 

Team Development:

Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and promote all crew members.

Safety & Efficiency: Collaborate with crew foremen, the scheduling department, and the sales team to ensure crew safety and efficient work practices through ongoing training and supervision. Ensure proper job setups, equipment use, climbing practices, and crew communication.

 

Equipment Management:

Ensure crews have the proper equipment to perform their jobs safely and that equipment is properly maintained.

Client Management: Work with sales reps to identify and prospect client targets, ensuring a steady portfolio of work at attractive prices. Follow up with customers to ensure work meets expectations.

 

Financial Operations:

Work with Account Managers and administrative staff to ensure effective invoicing and receivables collection.

 

Sales & Estimation:

Occasionally sell work and estimate/bid on projects.

Quality Inspections: Conduct job quality inspections to maintain high standards.

Operational Reviews: Conduct monthly operating reviews with sales reps, crew foremen, the scheduling department, and senior leadership to ensure alignment with objectives.

 

Job Skill Requirements:

• ISA Certified Arborist
• Business-to-business selling skills
• Analytical and basic math skills
• Strong communication skills (listening, oral, and written)
• Strong interpersonal skills: ability to build solid business relationships
• Multi-tasking and prioritization abilities
• Ability to understand and interpret financial statements
• Job Type: Full-time
