Landscape Planner

Location: West Palm Beach, FL
Salary: $63,245 Annually

Summary
Under limited supervision, performs routine processing of applications and file maintenance related to landscape plans and site plans, inspection of projects for compliance with approved landscape and site plans, enforcement of the regulations pertaining to tree removal and landscape maintenance; provides assistance to the Planning and Zoning Department and other departments; and performs other related duties as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Which are not in any hierarchical order)

1. Analyzes development-related landscape data and plans.

2. Provides recommendations on landscape design components on neighborhood, site, and master plans.

3. Prepares landscape design guidelines for code implementation.

4. Participates and/or coordinates activities and work on landscape projects originated by the Planning and Zoning Department or other City Agency.

5. Assists the Public Utilities Department in pre-construction meetings with capital improvement projects and other landscaping concerns.

6. Prepares and processes tree removal permits throughout the City.

7. Inspects all installed landscaped work and site improvements related to building permit and any capital projects to ensure code compliance and plan consistency.

8. Coordinates with State agencies regarding both policies and procedures as they relate to the City on landscape issues.

9. Attends meetings with advisory boards, city committees, and neighborhood groups to communicate landscape code provisions and landscape plans.

10. Conducts site visits for analysis and conformity to the landscape code, inspects completed landscape installation for code compliance, and reviews landscape violations throughout the City as required.

11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Salary
Depending on qualifications the starting salary for this position will be in the range of (Pay Grade 60).
