Arborist Assistant

Location: Gainesville, FL
Salary: $38,584 with benefits

In this position you will make a difference by planting and careing for trees in public spaces,  including parks, schools, near sidewalks and other areas that will benefit from new trees.  Succesfull  applicants will posess a working knowledge of trees, and tree maintenance. Canidates must be able to work independently and in a team. Work in this classification is detailed oriented, skilled manual labor under the direction of the County Arborist.  It will involve planting, pruning, mulching and watering trees as well as safely opetating a tanker truck, an assortment of saws and hand tools and using herbicide.  The successful canidate must obtain and maintain a State of Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License with a Tanker Endorsement within 9 months of employment .
