Position Overview:

As a Sales Arborist, you will be the face of JL's Tree Service, responsible for both selling our tree care services and providing expert consultations to customers. Your role will involve assessing tree health, recommending appropriate services, and driving sales growth in a competitive market. You will work closely with our operations team to ensure that all customer needs are met efficiently and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Consultations & Sales:

  • Conduct on-site assessments of residential, commercial, and municipal properties to identify tree care needs.
  • Educate clients on tree health, proper maintenance, and services we offer (e.g., pruning, tree removal, health evaluations, fertilization, etc.).
  • Provide tailored quotes and estimates for services.
  • Build long-term relationships with customers through excellent communication and follow-up.

• Lead Generation & Prospecting:

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within our service area.
  • Develop and implement strategies for lead generation, including networking, referrals, and digital outreach.

• Customer Relationship Management:

  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, estimates, and follow-ups.
  • Follow up with clients post-service to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

• Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless scheduling and completion of services.
  • Provide feedback and insights to help improve our service offerings and customer satisfaction.

• Sales Targets:

  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals, contributing to the company’s overall growth and success.

Qualifications:

• Certifications:

  • ISA Certified Arborist (preferred, or willingness to obtain certification within the first 6 months).
  • Additional certifications such as Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) or Licensed Pesticide Applicator (depending on local requirements) are a plus.

• Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in the tree care industry, with at least 1 year in a sales or customer-facing role.
  • Strong knowledge of tree care practices, pest management, and tree biology.

• Sales Skills:

  • Proven track record in sales, ideally in a service industry.
  • Ability to communicate complex tree care concepts to a non-expert audience in a clear and engaging manner.

• Customer Service:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for building relationships with customers.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a solution-oriented approach.

• Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors and travel within our service area, including driving to job sites and occasionally inspecting trees in various weather conditions.
  • Physical capability to demonstrate tree health assessments and discuss service recommendations in a field setting.

• Technology:

  • Familiarity with tree care management software Jobber is a plus.
