The ISA Board of Directors is an elected board of 15 directors. Eight of the director positions are voted upon by ISA members in a general election, and five of the director positions are filled by an election from within the Council of Representatives. The President of the Board and President-Elect are each elected for their terms of office from within the Board of Directors by the current directors.

The three-year terms for the following elected positions will begin in August 2018 in conjunction with the ISA Annual International Conference and Trade Show in Columbus, Ohio, and will end in August 2021.

Elected by the ISA Membership:

• Jim Flott, president of Community Forestry Consultants, Inc. in Spokane, Washington, USA; Pacific Northwest Chapter (Jim is serving his second, concurrent, three-year term.)


• Gordon Mann, consulting arborist and urban forester for his business, Mann Made Resources, in Auburn, California, USA; Western Chapter (Gordon is serving his second, concurrent, three-year term.)


• Gail Nozal, assistant district manager for S&S Tree Specialists, a Davey Company in South St. Paul, Minnesota, USA.; Wisconsin Chapter (Gail is serving her first, three-year term.)

Elected by the Council of Representatives:

• Dr. John Gathright, founder/director of Japan Arborist Training Institute; Seto Aichi, Japan; Japan Arborist Association (John is serving his first, three-year term.)
