The Morton Arboretum and the International Society of Arboriculture are proud to announce The Landscape Below Ground V Conference, which will take place in Lisle, Illinois on 10-12 October 2023.
The past Landscape Below Ground conferences have been held in 1993, 1998, 2008, and 2018. These conferences have provided a forum for presentation of the latest research and management practices in all aspects of tree root development in urban soils. Their impact on arboricultural practices has been significant.
The program committee is now accepting presentation, poster, and pre-conference workshop proposals for the conference. Proposals will be evaluated based on overall quality, appropriateness and timeliness of topic, well-defined focus, and practical applications of material. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
- Tree root development and management
- Managing urban soil environments
- Tree root system biomechanics
- Root structure and stability
- Tree production, planting, and establishment
- Infrastructure conflicts and solutions
- Construction damage and preservation
- Planting site design
Presentations must be made in person. Submit your abstract here! The deadline for submissions is 7 April 2023.
