ISA Election News

Each year, ISA holds two elections to fill the 15 Board of Director positions. The annual ISA Board of Directors CoR (Council of Representatives) election, currently underway, concludes 31 January 2019. The annual ISA General Membership election begins 16 March 2019 and closes 30 April 2019. During this election, three upcoming open seats on the ISA Board of Directors will be filled along with two upcoming open seats on the ISA Nominating and Elections Committee (NEC).

Nominate Your Peers for the 2019 ISA Awards Programs by 4 March 2019

The submission date for the ISA awards programs has been extended to 4 March 2019. The ISA Awards of Distinction offer nine different award categories for outstanding contributions to the arboriculture industry. The ISA True Professionals of Arboriculture recognition program honors tree care professionals who have gone above and beyond to provide educational opportunities to their employees or the public and/or implement programs within their communities to increase awareness of the arboriculture profession, the benefits of trees, and their proper care.

The ISA Code of Ethics

The ISA Code of Ethics guides and protects ISA Certified Arborists in regard to professional and ethical behavior. This is a critical distinction within the industry that supports the added level of professionalism one should expect when hiring an ISA Certified Arborist. Certified Arborists (CAs) and Board Master Certified Arborists (BCMAs), along with those who have earned various discipline-specific certifications, have agreed to be held to the ethical code of conduct and, as such, can have ethics complaints submitted against them from clients, competitors and the general public.
